Women in UNISON campaign in ‘self-organised groups’ for equality in the workplace and for improvements to women’s rights in the workplace and in the wider community. Come along to the Greenwich UNISON Women’s Group to find out more about self-organisation, share your issues, and find out how you can get involved.


  • 65% of public sector workers are women.
  • One quarter of working women are in public sector jobs.
  • 30,000 women lost their jobs in 2009 as a result of being pregnant.
  • In the UK, women still earn an average 14.9% less than men.
  • Half of all women have been sexually harassed at work
